Being very much detail oriented, proper fundamentals coach, specializing in younger, first time contact with the game of VB players had his hand in development of many to first division NCAA Colleges/Universities level of VB. But perhaps the greatest Walter's coaching achievement was Courtney Thompson (Today, USA national Team Setter) where he coached her in to a setter position in her first volleyball season in KJ U12.

He retired from coaching in 2005 due to health deterioration. Now stronger again, he feels he has so match to offer from his VB knowledge to a young players. after few years away from coaching in 2015-2016 season he worked with U14 in Ridge Valley VBC.
